Q: Who can become a member of the Atlanta Actuarial Club?

A: Members of any recognized national or international actuarial organization, those pursuing actuarial exams and/or performing actuarial work, and retired actuaries are eligible to become members of the Club. Refer to our Constitution (Article II -Membership) for more details.


Q: How do I become a member?

A: If you are interested in being a member, sign up here. Our Secretary will then add you to our distribution list for future event announcements.


Q: Is there a fee to join?

A: The Club currently does not charge its members dues, although this could change in the future. The only fees charged by the club are those associated with a specific event (for example, a luncheon meeting) at the time of registration.


Q: Who comes to the Atlanta Actuarial Club meetings?

A: Many Atlanta-area companies who employ actuaries as well as university students pursuing an actuarial science-related degree are represented at our meetings.


Q: How do I find out about an upcoming Atlanta Actuarial Club event?

A: Join our mailing list and check our homepage.


Q: How often are meetings held?

A: The Atlanta Actuarial Club holds a minimum of 2 regular meetings each year at which members gather for a specific program and/or speaker(s). In addition, a minimum of 2 informal events (e.g. happy hours) are held each year. Special interest meetings may be held at the discretion of the Club’s officers.


Q: Where are these meetings held?

A: Meetings may be held at a variety of Atlanta area venues.


Q: How do I recommend potential topics or speakers for a meeting?

A: If you would like to speak at one of our upcoming meetings or would like to recommend a particular speaker and/or topic, please email atlantaactuarialclub@gmail.com


Q: Does the Atlanta Actuarial Club provide study groups or exam preparation classes for those taking actuarial exams?

A: No. If you are interested in learning more about exam support, please visit the Society of Actuaries and/or Casualty Actuarial Society websites.
